Occupying a secluded island on one of the Delta's largest permanent lagoons, Xugana Island Lodge offers an immersive water-based safari throughout the year. Surrounded by pristine channels, papyrus-lined waterways and seasonally flooded forests, it is a place where every journey begins by boat and the rhythm of the Delta shapes every day.

Accommodation

Accommodation comprises twelve spacious Luxury Tents together with a two-bedroom Interleading Tent, all thoughtfully positioned along the lagoon's edge to maximise privacy and uninterrupted water views.

Raised on timber platforms, each tent features generous indoor and outdoor living space, enclosed private decks, elegant en-suite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers and calming interiors inspired by the surrounding Delta landscape. Every room feels wonderfully connected to nature without compromising on comfort.

Dining

Dining embraces the relaxed pace of life on the Delta, with freshly prepared cuisine served in a variety of memorable settings overlooking the lagoon. Breakfasts, leisurely lunches and beautifully prepared dinners celebrate local ingredients while taking full advantage of the extraordinary surroundings.

As evening falls, the Overwater Fire Deck becomes the heart of the lodge, where sundowners, conversation and unforgettable sunsets give way to spectacular African night skies reflected across the still waters of Xugana Lagoon.

Safari Experience

Xugana Island Lodge is dedicated to exploring the waterways that make the Okavango Delta one of Africa's greatest natural wonders. Guided motorboat safaris venture through deeper channels and expansive lagoons where elephants, hippos, crocodiles, red lechwe and countless bird species thrive throughout the year.

Traditional mokoro excursions offer a quieter perspective, gliding silently through narrow channels as experienced guides reveal the intricate beauty of the Delta's reeds, lilies and smaller wildlife. Guided walking safaris on surrounding islands provide the opportunity to experience the wilderness on foot, while seasonal catch-and-release fishing adds another rewarding way to enjoy the Delta.
