Our View

The Naboisho Conservancy offers a quieter, more exclusive side of the Mara, and that's exactly what makes this camp so rewarding. Outstanding guiding, beautifully designed suites and remarkable wildlife create a safari that feels both refined and genuinely immersive.

Set within the wildlife-rich Naboisho Conservancy, Mara Nyika Camp combines exceptional game viewing with refined safari living in one of Kenya's most exclusive wilderness regions.

Hidden beneath a canopy of flat-topped acacia trees, the camp occupies a secluded valley where elevated walkways link spacious guest suites to the main lodge. Its privileged location allows guests to explore both the private conservancy and the neighbouring Maasai Mara National Reserve, creating an exceptionally varied safari while enjoying the tranquillity and exclusivity for which Naboisho is renowned.

Lodging

Mara Nyika Camp features four beautifully appointed guest suites together with a two-bedroom family suite. Raised on timber platforms beneath the trees, each suite combines generous living space, handcrafted furnishings and soft natural tones with panoramic views across the surrounding bush.

Large bedrooms flow into elegant sitting areas, while spacious bathrooms feature copper bathtubs, indoor showers and double vanities. Expansive private verandas provide a peaceful place to relax between safari activities, with wildlife frequently passing through the valley below.

Dining

As a member of Relais & Châteaux, dining is an important part of the experience. Menus are created around fresh seasonal ingredients and served wherever the day feels most appropriate, from leisurely breakfasts following sunrise game drives to elegant dinners beneath the stars or private meals on your own veranda.

Excellent wines, attentive service and the flexibility to dine at your own pace create an experience that feels relaxed, personal and perfectly suited to life on safari.

Safari Experience

The Naboisho Conservancy has earned a reputation as one of Kenya's finest wildlife destinations, supporting impressive populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, buffalo, giraffe and countless plains game. With relatively few camps sharing this remarkable landscape, wildlife encounters often feel wonderfully private.

Morning, afternoon and full-day game drives explore the conservancy before extending into the Maasai Mara National Reserve for guests staying three nights or longer. This combination offers an exceptional diversity of landscapes and wildlife, while experienced guides adapt every outing to changing conditions and animal movements.

Night drives provide opportunities to encounter species rarely seen during daylight hours, including aardwolf, civet, porcupine and hunting predators. Guided by expert trackers, these after-dark safaris reveal an entirely different side of the African wilderness.

Hot air balloon flights offer breathtaking views across the Mara at sunrise, while photographers benefit from custom-designed safari vehicles, professional Canon camera equipment and high-quality binoculars available throughout their stay. Private vehicles and guides can also be arranged for guests seeking complete flexibility.

Wildlife & Seasons

Wildlife viewing remains exceptional throughout the year thanks to the conservancy's healthy resident populations of predators and plains game. Seasonal rainfall transforms the grasslands and attracts large numbers of grazing animals, while the nearby Maasai Mara offers the opportunity to witness the Great Migration during the months when vast herds move north from the Serengeti.

Location

Mara Nyika Camp enjoys a secluded position within Kenya's private Naboisho Conservancy, with additional access to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. This exceptional location combines outstanding wildlife, exclusive guiding and one of East Africa's most rewarding safari landscapes.
