The house features four individually designed bedrooms arranged across two levels, each with its own en-suite bathroom, open-air bathing area and views across the river. Expansive indoor and outdoor living spaces encourage everyone to gather together, while quiet corners, shaded verandas and a large private pool ensure there is always somewhere to relax between safari activities. Built using natural materials and inspired by its surroundings, the house blends effortlessly into the riverside landscape.

Wildlife & Seasons

Open from April until mid-November, Chongwe House offers rewarding wildlife experiences throughout the safari season. The early months bring lush scenery and outstanding birdlife, while the dry season concentrates wildlife along the riverbanks as visibility steadily improves. Canoeing, boating and walking safaris are particularly rewarding from July onwards, when the Lower Zambezi is at its finest.
