Our View

For us, Nsolo is South Luangwa at its most timeless, intimate, beautifully understated and blessed with some of the finest predator viewing in the valley.

Set beside a permanent lagoon in the heart of South Luangwa National Park, Time + Tide Nsolo captures the spirit of a traditional African safari, combining intimate accommodation, exceptional guiding and remarkable predator sightings in one of Zambia's finest wildlife regions.

One of the park's original camps, Nsolo enjoys a wonderfully peaceful setting where wildlife gathers throughout the day around the permanent lagoon. Hippos wallow just beyond camp, kingfishers skim effortlessly across the water and elephants regularly wander through the surrounding woodland, creating an atmosphere where nature is never more than a few steps away.

Lodging

Accommodation is limited to just five beautifully crafted safari suites, each thoughtfully positioned for privacy and uninterrupted views across the surrounding bush. Constructed from natural timber, thatch and canvas, the suites remain true to the traditions of classic safari camps while providing every modern comfort. Spacious private decks and open-air bathrooms allow guests to remain immersed in the sights and sounds of the wilderness from dawn until long after sunset.

Dining

Meals are served in relaxed surroundings overlooking the lagoon or beneath the stars around the campfire, where attentive service and beautifully prepared cuisine become part of the safari experience itself. Menus celebrate seasonal Zambian produce alongside carefully balanced international influences, creating memorable dining that feels both refined and entirely appropriate to its remarkable wilderness setting.

Safari Experience

Nsolo enjoys an outstanding reputation for wildlife viewing, particularly its resident lion prides and thriving population of African wild dogs. Guided walking safaris, day and night game drives and visits to nearby wildlife hides reveal the extraordinary diversity of South Luangwa, while the camp also provides an excellent base for Time + Tide's celebrated sleepout experience beneath the African night sky. Large elephant herds, elusive leopards, hippos and exceptional birdlife complete one of Zambia's finest safari experiences.

Wildlife & Seasons

Open from May until mid-November, Nsolo offers rewarding wildlife viewing throughout the safari season. The early months provide excellent walking conditions and vibrant landscapes, while September through November deliver increasingly dramatic predator encounters as wildlife concentrates around permanent water. Late season also offers excellent opportunities to observe endangered African wild dogs together with spectacular colonies of colourful carmine bee-eaters.

Location

Occupying a secluded position beside a permanent lagoon within South Luangwa National Park, Time + Tide Nsolo sits in one of the valley's richest wildlife areas. Surrounded by mature woodland and open floodplains, the camp provides an idyllic setting where guests can simply sit on their private deck and watch the constant procession of animals arriving at the water's edge.
