Our View

Curtain Bluff has a rare ability to feel both timeless and completely relevant, and after a stay here it is easy to understand why generations of guests continue to return.

Curtain Bluff, part of Relais & Chateaux, is one of the Caribbean's great resort hotels occupying a remarkable position on Antigua's southern coast where a narrow headland places the sea on both sides of the property.

Few resorts enjoy a setting quite like this. One side faces a long sweep of calm white sand beach, while the other looks across a rugged coastline towards the open Caribbean Sea. The resort takes full advantage of its location, with accommodation, restaurants and public spaces carefully arranged along the bluff to maximise the views. Despite its reputation and long history, Curtain Bluff has never chased trends. Instead, it has remained loyal to a style of hospitality built around generous space, attentive service and an atmosphere that feels effortlessly relaxed.

There is a confidence to the resort that comes from decades of refinement rather than reinvention. Guests return year after year for familiar faces, exceptional service and a setting that remains every bit as compelling today as when the resort first opened.

Staying

The 72 rooms and suites are positioned directly towards the sea, ensuring every category enjoys a strong connection to the water. Interiors favour comfort, space and natural light over unnecessary embellishment, creating accommodation that feels welcoming rather than showy.

Junior Suites offer generous living space and private outdoor areas overlooking the Caribbean, while larger suite categories provide additional room for longer stays. Throughout the resort, the emphasis remains on the view, with balconies and terraces becoming natural extensions of the accommodation and inviting guests to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

Dining centres around two restaurants that have long been an important part of the Curtain Bluff experience. The Tamarind Tree serves breakfast and dinner from an open sided setting overlooking the sea, combining Caribbean influences with classic international cuisine. Menus change regularly, reflecting both seasonal ingredients and the resort's longstanding culinary standards.

The Sea Grape provides a more relaxed beachfront setting for lunch and selected evening dining, while the resort's wine cellar supports one of the strongest wine programmes in the Caribbean. Two bars ensure guests are never far from a cocktail, glass of wine or afternoon refreshment overlooking the water.

Experience

The beach remains at the heart of daily life, whether swimming in calm waters, relaxing beneath the shade of a palm tree or taking advantage of the extensive watersports programme. Sailing, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle sports are all included, while diving and fishing excursions allow guests to explore further afield.

Beyond the beach, Curtain Bluff offers one of the most comprehensive activity programmes on the island, including a respected tennis centre, pickleball courts, squash court, fitness facilities and organised activities. Despite the breadth of facilities, the atmosphere never feels busy, allowing guests to shape each day entirely around their own pace.

Wellness

The spa occupies a peaceful position overlooking the coastline and offers a range of treatments, wellness therapies and massage experiences. Yoga classes, personal training and a fully equipped fitness centre complement the spa facilities, providing a balanced wellness offering that feels entirely in keeping with the resort's relaxed approach to luxury.

Where

Curtain Bluff is located approximately 30 minutes from VC Bird International Airport on Antigua's southern coast. Its position provides easy access to English Harbour and Nelson's Dockyard while maintaining the privacy and exclusivity that have helped establish its reputation as one of the Caribbean's most respected resorts.
