Our View
Four beaches give Hawksbill a freedom and variety that few resorts of its scale can match. We think it is a particularly appealing choice for couples seeking an easy-going, adults-only all-inclusive with traditional Caribbean character, abundant space and excellent access to the sea.
Hawksbill Resort follows an unspoilt sweep of Antigua’s west coast, where extensive tropical grounds open onto four beaches with distinctly different personalities.
The rare luxury here is choice of shoreline. One morning might begin on a broad stretch of sand before moving to a sheltered cove after lunch, while the distinctive rock formation from which the resort takes its name stands just offshore. Buildings and bungalows are dispersed through the greenery, allowing the landscape to set the tone.
Adults-only and all-inclusive, Hawksbill has a traditional Caribbean sensibility that feels entirely appropriate to its natural setting. The emphasis is on open-air living, easy access to the water and the freedom to spend long days outdoors. With 111 rooms and bungalows spread across the estate, the atmosphere remains spacious and pleasingly unhurried.
Rooms & Suites
Accommodation is positioned between the gardens and shoreline, giving guests a meaningful choice between tropical seclusion and immediate proximity to the sea. Every room or bungalow has its own patio or balcony, furnished for taking in either a garden or Caribbean outlook.
Garden View Bungalows sit among established planting and suit guests who enjoy the shade, colour and privacy of a more sheltered position. Their individual layout complements the resort’s low-rise character and maintains a strong sense of separation from busier shared spaces.
Beachfront Bungalows move the experience closer to the sand, making an early swim or an evening walk along the shore wonderfully straightforward. For travellers who want the water to dominate the view, Oceanfront Rooms face directly towards the Caribbean.
Interiors carry a light, classic island style, with air conditioning, a mini-fridge, coffee-making facilities and private bathrooms providing everyday comfort. The approach is relaxed and unfussy, leaving the outlook and private outdoor space to play the leading role.
Dining
Hawksbill’s three open-air dining venues each occupy a different point within the resort. The Tamarind Tree is the main restaurant, serving buffet breakfasts and dinners in a sociable setting that establishes the rhythm of the all-inclusive programme.
Sea Grape Bar & Grill sits beside the beach and takes a more casual approach. Light snacks and drinks are served close to the sand, making it an easy choice when guests would rather not interrupt a day by the water for a formal lunch.
Il Vigento Su Mare provides the more intimate alternative. Set on the bluff and available by reservation, it specialises in pasta and lobster dishes served with an elevated view over the ocean.
Together, the venues create a natural progression through the day: breakfast beneath the Tamarind Tree, something light by the beach and dinner above the sea. Live music and themed evenings introduce variety while preserving the resort’s informal Caribbean mood.
Experience
The four beaches are the defining feature of Hawksbill. Their differing sizes and settings allow guests to seek out a favourite, whether that means open sand, a quieter cove or a position with a clear view of the offshore rock formation.
Eden Beach is Antigua’s only clothing-optional beach, offering an especially secluded corner of the coastline. Its presence adds another dimension to the resort without defining the wider experience, as the remaining beaches retain their own distinct character and appeal.
An infinity pool provides an alternative to the sea, with its terrace looking towards the surrounding tropical landscape. The breadth of the grounds means it is easy to divide a day between the pool, gardens and several stretches of shoreline rather than remaining in one central area.
Non-motorised watersports include Hobie Cat and Sunfish sailing, kayaking, paddle boating and snorkelling. Tennis courts and exercise equipment provide options on land, while diving, fishing and riding can add a more adventurous element to the stay.
Wellness
Healing Hands Spa brings a flexible approach to relaxation, with massage available in the privacy of a guest room or beside the beach. The latter makes particularly good use of the setting, pairing treatment time with sea air and the sound of the water.
The wider spa menu includes facials, body treatments and beauty rituals, supported by dedicated relaxation facilities. Yoga classes provide a calm, active start to the day, while exercise equipment allows guests to maintain a more independent routine.
Where
Hawksbill occupies an expansive coastal estate in Antigua’s Five Islands area. Its position feels removed from the island’s more developed enclaves, yet St John’s is less than ten minutes away, placing the capital’s shops and historic centre within easy reach.
V.C. Bird International Airport is approximately 20 minutes from the resort. Jolly Harbour Golf Club is around 14 kilometres away, extending the leisure possibilities beyond Hawksbill’s own beaches and sporting facilities.
