Our View
Glyfada Beach is one of the many reasons we’d come back to Domes of Corfu, with that wonderful sweep of sand below the pine covered hills, plenty of space for families and an Ionian sunset worth staying beside the water for.
At the foot of pine covered cliffs on Corfu’s west coast, Domes of Corfu, Autograph Collection opens directly onto the golden sands of Glyfada Beach, bringing together beautiful Ionian sunsets, contemporary family accommodation and a generous resort life shaped around the sea.
Glyfada is the great pleasure here. The beach stretches in a broad curve beneath wooded hills, with clear, shallow water and a west facing position that brings some glorious evening light across the Ionian. Domes of Corfu follows the natural slope towards the shore, allowing gardens, terraces and low rise buildings to settle comfortably into the landscape rather than separating the hotel from its surroundings.
The design has warmth and personality, using earthy colours, curved forms, natural textures and a relaxed bohemian influence throughout the interiors. Families are very much part of the story, but dedicated adult areas and carefully arranged pools create different places to spend the day, while the beach remains the one constant that draws everyone back to the water.
Rooms & Suites
Rooms and suites take their cues from the colours of Corfu, with warm neutrals, natural materials and private patios or balconies creating an easy transition outdoors. Inland and Tropical Retreats sit within the greener parts of the resort, while Sapphire categories turn towards the Ionian and make the most of the sea views.
Junior Suites add more generous living space, with Patio and Horizon categories offering different positions within the resort. Sapphire Junior Suites bring the sea firmly into the picture and are also available with swim up pools, allowing the terrace to become a particularly appealing place to retreat during the afternoon.
Families have an extensive collection of larger suites to choose from, including Inland, Sapphire and Sublime Family Suites as well as two bedroom accommodation. Selected Sapphire Sublime categories add swim up pools, combining the practicality of proper family space with a more indulgent outdoor setting.
Dining
Agora is the main culinary hub, bringing Mediterranean and international dishes together across a broad menu that works particularly well for families. Meze Restaurant gives Greek food a more convivial setting, built around dishes for the table and the pleasure of lingering over dinner rather than simply moving through courses.
Yaosai introduces Asian flavours to the collection, while CORE Spianada has a character all of its own. Conceived as an open air agora, it brings food, drinks and entertainment together in a more informal setting and becomes one of the liveliest corners of the resort as the evening unfolds.
The beachfront provides another natural backdrop for eating and drinking, and the choice of bars makes it easy to move from something cold beside the pool to an early evening drink with the Ionian ahead. Wine tastings, cooking experiences and gastronomy workshops add a welcome connection to Corfu beyond the restaurant menus.
Experience
Most days inevitably find their way back to Glyfada Beach. Its broad stretch of sand and clear, gently shelving water make it especially enjoyable for families, while canoeing, snorkelling, diving and other water based activities provide plenty of reasons to leave the lounger for a while.
Separate family and adult pool areas allow different moods to coexist comfortably. Younger guests have a dedicated kids club, crèche and play spaces, while cycling, hiking, yoga, fitness classes and local experiences give older guests plenty of choice. Live music and evening entertainment bring everyone back together as the day begins to cool.
Wellness
Domes Soma Spa draws on ancient Greek approaches to wellbeing, with massage, body rituals, facials and beauty treatments complemented by a relaxation area and fitness facilities. Yoga and personal training extend wellness outdoors, making particularly good use of the resort’s natural setting.
It is easy to build quieter moments into a stay here, whether that means an hour at the spa, a morning yoga session or simply finding a peaceful spot above the beach while the rest of the resort carries on around you.
Where
Domes of Corfu sits directly on Glyfada Beach on Corfu’s west coast, approximately 16 kilometres from Corfu International Airport and 20 kilometres from Corfu Town, making the island’s UNESCO protected capital an easy addition to a beach focused stay.
