Looking across Mirabello Bay towards Spinalonga, Domes Aulūs Elounda is an adults only resort with a relaxed premium all inclusive style, tiered sea facing accommodation and a distinctly social approach to life on Crete’s northeast coast.

The amphitheatre setting gives the hotel much of its identity. Buildings step down the hillside towards the sea, opening the resort to long views across the gulf and allowing terraces, pools and communal spaces to follow the natural gradient of the land. Food is a major part of the Domes Aulūs experience, with several restaurants giving the all inclusive concept real variety. Island Main Restaurant provides the broadest choice across the day, while Greco Levante brings the focus more firmly towards Cretan and Mediterranean cooking.

Amphiteátro Tesoro Mio & PITA occupies a more elevated position and introduces Italian influences alongside expansive views over the gulf. Other venues, including Vatanee and Yellow Sea, broaden the choice further, allowing the dining programme to move between regional flavours and more international ideas without becoming repetitive.

The bars follow the same easy rhythm, moving naturally from daytime drinks by the water to cocktails and more sociable evenings. It all feels designed to make staying within the resort effortless, particularly for guests choosing the Cool Living experience.

The pools and beachfront shape most days, with enough space between them to keep the atmosphere varied. Some areas feel lively and social, while others naturally invite a slower pace, and the layered hillside layout makes it easy to find a favourite terrace or corner depending on the mood.

Yoga, fitness sessions, cycling and water sports add plenty of movement, while live music and evening events bring more energy after dark. The setting near Elounda also makes excursions around Mirabello Bay especially worthwhile, with Spinalonga, small fishing villages and the coastline all close at hand.
