White Rocks Hotel

Spread across a 50 acre pine covered peninsula above the Ionian Sea in Lassi, White Rocks Hotel is a landmark Kefalonia retreat designed by celebrated Greek architect Nicos Valsamakis, with beaches below and extraordinary views woven into almost every part of the hotel.

White Rocks has an architectural pedigree that immediately gives it a character of its own. Valsamakis allowed the peninsula to dictate the shape of the resort, placing low buildings and bungalows among the pines and following the natural contours of the land towards the water. Long horizontal lines, broad openings and clear glass balustrades keep the architecture visually light, allowing the forest, cliffs and sea to remain the dominant elements.

The result feels remarkably timeless. Paths wind through Mediterranean planting towards terraces, viewpoints and the shoreline, while the elevated position opens up 180 degree views across the Ionian. Platis Gialos lies immediately alongside the peninsula, with Tourkopodaro and Makris Gialos completing a beautiful trio of beaches around this particularly lovely corner of Kefalonia.

Rooms & Suites

Rooms, bungalows and suites have been extensively renewed while retaining the clarity of the original architecture. Large openings draw in the light, and every room has its own balcony, terrace or garden, with the sea view categories making the most of the hotel's remarkable position above the coast.

Sea Front Bungalows bring guests particularly close to the water, while Junior Suites offer more space and increasingly impressive views. The Junior Suite Sea Front Spa adds its own wellness element, while the Infinity Pool Suite is the standout choice, pairing private water with a terrace that seems to merge into the Ionian beyond.

Dining

The White Dining Room provides the main setting for Mediterranean cooking, accompanied by the panoramic views that are such an integral part of the hotel. Local produce and Kefalonian flavours feature throughout, giving the menus a genuine connection to the island rather than simply using the coastline as a backdrop.

Lungomare brings dining outside in a beautiful sea facing setting, particularly appealing as the heat of the day begins to fade. Three bars provide more informal places for coffee, drinks and cocktails, including beachfront and poolside settings that make it very easy for lunch to stretch into the afternoon.

The peninsula is arguably White Rocks' greatest luxury. Pine shaded paths lead down towards the beaches and through extensive grounds, creating a feeling of space that is increasingly difficult to find on the Ionian islands.
