D'Andrea Lagoon

In Marmari on the north coast of Kos, D’ Andrea Lagoon All Suites is a five star adults only retreat of 80 suites arranged around a spectacular lagoon pool, with swim up terraces, contemporary interiors and its own private stretch of golden sand.

The lagoon is not simply the hotel pool. It is the organising principle for almost everything around it, a broad expanse of blue water running between low rise buildings, sun decks and terraces with loungers positioned right at the edge. Reflections play across the pale architecture throughout the day, giving D’ Andrea a distinctive sense of calm from the moment you arrive.

There is a crisp modernity to the design, softened by natural wood, planting and comfortable outdoor spaces that make it feel more residential than formal. With no children and a deliberately spacious layout, days settle quickly into an easy rhythm around the water, while the private beach provides a completely different setting whenever the sea calls.

Rooms & Suites

All 80 rooms are suites, so space comes as standard. Deluxe and Superior Deluxe categories look across the lagoon from their terraces, with floor to ceiling glass keeping the water firmly in view and generous seating areas giving the interiors a genuine sense of room to settle in.

The swim up suites are the signature choice. Step outside and the lagoon is immediately in front of you, turning the terrace into an extension of the pool and making an early morning or late afternoon swim almost irresistible. Deluxe and Superior Deluxe Swim Up Suites offer this direct connection, while the Premium Swim Up Suite sits at the top of the collection.

Inside, the mood remains understated and contemporary, with natural materials, soft furnishings and a restrained palette. Large walk in showers and soaking bathtubs add a little indulgence, but it is the relationship between suite, terrace and lagoon that gives the accommodation its character.

Dining

The restaurant keeps things Mediterranean, drawing on seasonal ingredients and serving breakfast and dinner in surroundings that remain connected to the pool and gardens. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free breakfasts are available, while the relaxed setting suits the unhurried pace of the hotel particularly well.

During the day, the bar and terrace take over more casually, with drinks and lighter dishes beside the lagoon. Room service and breakfast in the suite provide another option when your own terrace feels too good to leave, especially in a swim up category where a morning coffee can quite easily become a morning in the pool.

Experience

The hotel’s private 300 metre stretch of golden sand brings the Aegean into the experience without changing its relaxed character. Beach days can be as simple as finding a lounger and staying there, while windsurfing, diving and other water based activities are available for those who would rather be in the sea than beside it.

Back at the hotel, tennis and the fitness centre provide plenty of opportunity to be active, while cycling is a particularly good fit for Kos. Bike tours and bicycle hire make it easy to head out through the flatter landscapes of this part of the island, with horse riding and further excursions adding other ways to see more than the resort.

But D’ Andrea is at its most convincing when very little is planned. The lagoon, private beach and adults only atmosphere make it a place where an afternoon can disappear between a swim, a book and something cold from the bar without feeling as though anything has been missed.

Wellness

Wellbeing here is centred on movement and the restorative quality of the setting itself. A well equipped fitness centre is available for workouts, while the broad sun terraces and lagoon provide ample space for slower hours between the water and a lounger.
