On the hillside above Mykonos Town, Myconian Korali is a five star Relais & Châteaux retreat with sweeping views towards the Aegean and Delos, putting the island’s most famous town within easy reach while giving you space to escape above it.

Korali has always had one of the more interesting personalities within the Myconian Collection. The familiar white architecture of the island is punctuated by vivid yellow, red and orange, handpicked artwork and beautifully textured fabrics, bringing warmth and individuality to spaces that remain unmistakably Cycladic.

The view provides the constant. Mykonos Town spreads across the hillside below, the Aegean opens beyond it and the sacred island of Delos sits out at sea, creating an outlook that changes continually from the hard blue light of midday to the softer colours of sunset. The pool deck has been positioned to enjoy all of it, becoming an easy place to spend the hours before Chora begins calling later in the day.

Rooms & Suites

Rooms and suites have evocative names drawn from the island and its surroundings, with Inopos and Rinia introducing the collection before sea views become increasingly prominent through the Panoramic, Onar and Theros categories.

From there, outdoor living becomes much more indulgent. Phos and several junior suites add outdoor Jacuzzis, while Aeon and Era have private pools. Oria brings a semi private pool to its terrace, and the Delos suites combine sea views with both a private pool and outdoor Jacuzzi.

The largest suites make excellent use of Korali’s hillside position. Armonia offers two rooms and an outdoor Jacuzzi, while Cyclades and the two bedroom Ortigia Suite pair expansive sea views with both a private pool and Jacuzzi, creating wonderfully self contained spaces for longer stays with friends or family.

Dining

Baos is where Korali’s Relais & Châteaux credentials come most clearly into focus. The kitchen celebrates Mykonian and Mediterranean flavours through carefully sourced produce, taking familiar ingredients in a more ambitious direction while keeping the island firmly at the centre of the menu.

The setting deserves equal billing. Dinner unfolds above the whitewashed town and the Aegean, while Kitrino Bar beside the pool is made for the hours around sunset, when an afternoon on the deck gradually turns into cocktails and the lights begin to appear across Chora below.

Experience

Korali’s pool terrace gives the hotel its daytime rhythm, with sun loungers beneath sail shades and uninterrupted views stretching across the water. It is close enough to town to make sightseeing, shopping and lunch effortless, yet sufficiently removed to make an afternoon beside the pool feel like a genuine retreat from the bustle below.

There is plenty of Mykonos to discover beyond Chora too. The concierge can arrange days on the water or help open up the island by land, with snorkelling, diving, horse riding, cycling and hiking among the possibilities when you want to venture further than the pool deck.

Wellness

The spa brings another dimension to the hotel, with a hammam, sauna and steam room alongside an extensive treatment programme covering massage, body rituals, facials and beauty therapies. It is particularly appealing towards the end of the afternoon, creating a natural pause between a day in the sun and an evening in Mykonos Town.

Yoga, fitness classes, personal training and a dedicated gym add a more active side to the wellness programme. Combined with the pool and the privacy offered by many of the higher room categories, Korali gives you plenty of reasons to devote a day entirely to the hotel.

Where

The windmills, Little Venice and labyrinth of Mykonos Town are all close at hand, making Korali particularly rewarding after dark. You can spend the evening among Chora’s restaurants and bars and return to the hillside when you are ready, waking the following morning above the town with Delos on the horizon and another day on the island ahead.
