Built into the hillside above a sheltered beach at Kalafatis, The Wild Hotel is a five star Mykonos retreat of just 39 suites and villas, with a private stretch of sand and sweeping views across the Aegean.

The Wild occupies a side of Mykonos that feels wonderfully removed from the island's famous beach clubs and busy southern coast. Whitewashed buildings descend amphitheatrically towards the water, following the natural contours of the hillside and breaking into terraces, stone paths and gardens as they approach the sea. From almost every level, the view returns to the intensely blue water of the bay below.

There is a strong sense of place in the architecture. Traditional Cycladic forms are softened with stone, handmade finishes and natural materials, while the scale remains deliberately intimate. The Wild Two Bedroom Villa sits at the top of the collection, pairing the independence of a villa with a private pool and a beautiful position above the water.

Dining

The Taverna is at the heart of dining, taking the familiar pleasures of a Cycladic meal and allowing good local produce to do most of the talking. Fresh seafood, grilled dishes and seasonal ingredients are served with the Aegean in view, giving lunch and dinner the easy rhythm that suits this part of Mykonos particularly well.

Breakfast follows the same local approach, while the pool bar and restaurant carries the day from light lunches into cocktails as the sun begins to drop. With only 39 suites and villas, dining retains an intimacy that fits naturally with the rest of the hotel.

Experience

The infinity pool occupies one of the hotel's great vantage points, seemingly suspended above the bay with uninterrupted water beyond its edge. From here, paths descend through the property towards the private beach, where clear water and the shelter of the surrounding hillside create an idyllic place for long swimming days.

The sea opens up plenty of possibilities beyond the beach, including snorkelling, diving, canoeing and windsurfing, while horse riding and cycling offer different ways to see the island. Yet The Wild is equally suited to staying exactly where you are, moving between the pool, beach and terrace as the light changes across the bay.

Wellness

The spa brings another layer to the hotel's restorative character, with massages, facials and body treatments joined by yoga, fitness classes and personal training. Its approach feels particularly well matched to the surroundings, where much of the sense of wellbeing already comes from swimming, sunshine and the quiet of the coast.
