The Naxian Collection

High on the green hillside of Stelida, Naxian Collection is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World retreat where just five suites and villas, private and shared pools and far reaching Aegean views create an unusually personal way to experience Naxos.

The hotel has grown from the landscape rather than being imposed upon it. Traditional Cycladic forms are built from Naxian marble, granite, stone and wood, with gardens, terraces and pathways following the natural levels of the hillside. From here, the outlook reaches across the coast towards Naxos Town and its castle, giving the property a wonderful sense of openness beneath the enormous Cycladic sky.

There is a strong family character behind Naxian Collection, expressed through warm hospitality and a genuine enthusiasm for the island. Its organic vegetable garden, wine cellar and rather fabulous whisky library all add personality, while the small scale means the experience can remain individual. Rooms & Suites

Accommodation is divided between two suites with shared pools and three individual villas with private pools, giving every category its own substantial outdoor space. The Premium and Grande Suites open towards their shared pools, while the Elegant, Luxury and Honeymoon Villas create a more private retreat with terraces and pools positioned to capture the sea and island views.

Interiors continue the Cycladic character of the buildings, combining natural local materials with simple, comfortable furnishings. Kitchenettes in selected accommodation add flexibility, particularly for longer stays, although it is the outdoor space that really defines these rooms, with terraces becoming natural extensions of the interiors throughout the day.

Dining

Food at Naxian Collection draws heavily on the extraordinary produce of the island. Vegetables and herbs from the hotel's own organic garden sit naturally alongside local ingredients in Greek and Mediterranean dishes, bringing the agricultural character of Naxos directly into the kitchen. Breakfast is generous and unhurried, best enjoyed outside with the hillside and Aegean stretching away below.

The wine cellar provides another connection to Greece and its vineyards, while the whisky library is a wonderfully unexpected touch for a small Cycladic hotel. Cooking experiences offer the chance to go deeper into the island's food culture, turning the ingredients and recipes of Naxos into part of the stay rather than simply something served at dinner.

Experience

The main swimming pool and terraces provide a natural gathering point, although private and shared pools mean there is rarely any need to move far from your own accommodation. Agios Prokopios and its long sandy beach lie below Stelida, bringing one of Naxos's best known stretches of coast within easy reach.

The island opens up beautifully from here. Cycling and hiking lead inland through a landscape of villages, mountains and farmland, while snorkelling, diving, windsurfing and fishing return the focus to the Aegean. Horse riding and bicycle hire add further possibilities for seeing Naxos beyond its beaches.

Wellness

Wellness remains personal and flexible, with massage treatments complemented by yoga, fitness sessions and personal training. The hillside itself plays just as important a role, with gardens, pools and private terraces providing plenty of space to slow down beneath the Cycladic sun.

Where

Naxian Collection sits in Stelida between Naxos Town and the sandy shores of Agios Prokopios, making it particularly well placed for combining beach days with evenings in the island's capital. Its elevated position keeps the landscape and sea constantly in view, while the rest of Naxos is easily opened up for days exploring its mountain villages, ancient sites and wonderfully varied coastline.
