Looking across Naoussa Bay on the road to Kolymbithres, Saint Andrea Seaside Resort is an adults only retreat with 56 rooms and suites, handsome Cycladic architecture and a glorious lagoon pool at the heart of the hotel.

There is a lovely sense of heritage behind Saint Andrea. The hotel takes its name from the family's Byzantine monastery of Saint Andrea, which has belonged to them since the sixteenth century, bringing an unusually personal thread of Parian history to the property. Its whitewashed buildings and stone detailing draw on the architecture of the Cyclades, softened by gardens and terraces that lead naturally towards the pool.

The setting is equally appealing. Naoussa Bay and the sculpted rocks around Kolymbithres form the wider landscape, while the hotel itself feels spacious and settled, with plenty of room around the pool and gardens. It is close enough to Naoussa for its restaurants and evening atmosphere to become part of the holiday, while retaining the slower rhythm of a coastal resort during the day.

Dining

Anastasia Restaurant looks across the pool towards Naoussa Bay, giving meals the same sense of openness that runs through the rest of the hotel. Mediterranean and Greek cooking is built around fresh local produce, with breakfast beginning the day and dinner taking over the terrace as the light softens across the water.

The pool bar is exactly where it should be, beside the lagoon pool for cold drinks, wine and lighter dishes throughout the afternoon. Later, the hotel settles into a gentler evening mood, with Naoussa waiting nearby whenever dinner in town and a wander around its harbour appeal.

Experience

The large lagoon pool is Saint Andrea's defining space, edged by broad terraces and sun loungers with views towards the bay. Its generous scale gives the hotel a genuine resort atmosphere and makes an easy focal point for long summer days, particularly when little more is required than a swim and something cold from the bar.

Paros offers plenty beyond the pool. Kolymbithres brings one of the island's most distinctive stretches of coastline close by, while snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, canoeing, cycling, hiking and horse riding can all be arranged. Naoussa adds another dimension entirely, with its fishing harbour, boutiques, bars and excellent dining scene making it particularly tempting after sunset.
