Cape 9 Suites and Villas sits on the caldera edge in Akrotiri, offering a low density villa style stay with private gardens and far more space than most Santorini cliffside hotels.

The property is arranged as a collection of just nine standalone villas and suites, set across a gently sloping site rather than a tight vertical cliff layout. Each residence sits within its own defined plot, with pathways and planted gardens separating the units, so the overall feel is closer to a private estate than a traditional hotel.

Two shared pool areas act as the central points of the property, but they never dominate the layout, as most of the experience happens within each villa’s own outdoor space. The positioning allows for open caldera views without the density of Oia, giving the setting a quieter and more spread out feel.

Staying

The nine residences are designed around indoor and outdoor living, with one and two bedroom layouts that include separate sitting and dining areas alongside private gardens. Each unit has its own plunge pool or jacuzzi, which becomes the main living space during the day.

Options such as the Deluxe Villa with Private Pool and Family Villa with Private Pool offer the most space, while the Honeymoon Suite and Superior View Suite maintain the same sense of privacy on a smaller scale. The inclusion of kitchenettes and larger living areas shifts the feel towards a private villa stay rather than a standard hotel suite.

There is no formal restaurant, with dining centred around private in villa breakfast and a poolside bar that serves drinks and light Mediterranean dishes throughout the day. Breakfast is delivered directly to each residence, reinforcing the private villa approach rather than a shared dining experience.

The poolside bar provides a simple menu alongside cocktails and refreshments, keeping food and drink informal and tied to the outdoor spaces rather than structured around set dining venues.

Experience

Two outdoor pools provide shared space, with loungers and seating areas arranged around them, although most guests will spend the majority of their time within their own villa gardens and private pools. The layout naturally encourages a slower pace, with little emphasis on organised activity.

The location in Akrotiri means quieter surroundings, with a more residential feel compared to Oia, while still allowing access to beaches, archaeological sites and other parts of the island by car.

Where

The hotel is located in Akrotiri, around 8 kilometres from Santorini Airport and approximately 4 kilometres from Athinios Port, with a bus stop within 100 metres, making it straightforward to explore the island while staying in a quieter part of Santorini.
