Above the caldera at Akrotiri, Cape 9 Suites & Villas offers just nine private residences with their own gardens and pools, bringing the space and independence of a villa stay to one of Santorini’s most dramatic settings.

The property is arranged more like a small private estate than a conventional cliffside hotel. Villas and suites sit apart from one another across a gently sloping site, separated by planted gardens and pathways, so there is a genuine sense of space between each residence and plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors in privacy.

That lower density changes the experience considerably. Rather than everything being concentrated around a single terrace, the caldera view becomes part of each individual garden, pool and patio, while two larger shared pools provide additional places to swim and relax without drawing attention away from the private accommodation.

Rooms & Suites

There are only nine residences, each designed around generous indoor and outdoor living. Private gardens, furnished patios and plunge pools form the heart of every stay, with interiors extending the villa feel through separate sitting and dining areas, traditional built beds and one or two bedroom layouts.

The Superior View Suite with Private Pool and Honeymoon Suite with Private Pool are particularly well suited to couples, combining caldera views with secluded outdoor space and enough room to settle in properly for several days.

The Deluxe Villa with Private Pool and Family Villa with Private Pool provide a more substantial setup, with larger living areas and the flexibility of multi bedroom accommodation. Kitchen facilities, dining space and private gardens make these categories feel genuinely self contained, especially for families or friends travelling together.

Dining

Breakfast is brought directly to each residence, turning the first meal of the day into part of the private villa experience. Homemade treats and carefully prepared dishes can be enjoyed in the garden or beside the pool, with the caldera providing the backdrop instead of a shared dining room.

Light meals, drinks and refreshments can also be served by the communal pools or delivered to private patios, allowing the day to remain relaxed and informal. Santorini wines feature naturally within the experience, including a selected range stored in the accommodation.

Experience

The two main outdoor pools offer a change of scene from the private gardens, with sun loungers, umbrellas and seating areas positioned to take in the open views. They are spacious enough to feel like genuine resort facilities while still fitting comfortably within the intimate scale of Cape 9.

Akrotiri gives guests a very different base from Oia or Fira, with archaeological sites, beaches and quieter stretches of the island within easy reach. Having parking beside the residences also makes Cape 9 particularly convenient for those who want the freedom to explore Santorini independently.

Equally, this is somewhere that makes staying in very easy. A slow breakfast on the terrace, a swim in your own pool and an afternoon looking across the caldera can quite happily become the shape of the entire day.

Wellness

Massage and beauty treatments can be arranged privately for individuals or couples, allowing wellness to remain closely tied to the villa setting. The private gardens, pools and outdoor lounge areas already create a naturally relaxed atmosphere, so treatments feel like an extension of the stay rather than a separate spa experience.
