Katikies Santorini

Carved into the cliffs of Oia some 300 feet above the Aegean, Katikies Santorini is an adults only caldera icon where whitewashed cave suites, cascading infinity pools and extraordinary volcano views have helped define the island’s idea of boutique luxury.

Junior, Senior and Superior Suites provide increasingly generous spaces, with jetted tubs appearing across several categories. The Katikies Suite adds an open air jetted tub of its own, while the Honeymoon Suites can be chosen with either a jetted tub or plunge pool, placing the water and caldera together on your private terrace.

The Master Suite with Plunge Pool sits at the top of the collection, but whichever category you choose, the pleasure is remarkably similar. Doors open, breakfast arrives, and suddenly that white terrace above the Aegean becomes the place where you want to spend far more of the day than originally planned.

Dining

Botrini’s Santorini gives dinner a suitably memorable stage. Chef Ettore Botrini brings a contemporary Mediterranean perspective to Greek ingredients, with carefully composed dishes served against one of the most dramatic natural backdrops imaginable. As the evening light moves across the caldera, the setting becomes inseparable from the meal.

The Lower Deck Lounge keeps things more relaxed, making it an easy choice for lunch and leisurely daytime dining, while the Upper Deck Lounge occupies another of the hotel’s spectacular terraces. Together they allow the day to move naturally from breakfast and poolside lunches into drinks and dinner without ever needing to leave the cliff.

Breakfast is particularly lovely here and can be served on your private veranda, complete with Champagne if the mood takes you. With the caldera still quiet and Oia only beginning to wake above you, it is one of those small indulgences that feels completely at home at Katikies.

Experience

The infinity pools have become part of the hotel’s identity. Brilliant blue against the white cliff, they sit on different levels above the caldera, their edges visually disappearing into the Aegean far below. Sun terraces follow the same cascading arrangement, creating smaller places to settle rather than concentrating everyone around a single pool deck.

It is very easy to let Katikies dictate the pace. A swim becomes an hour in the sun, lunch becomes another swim and the changing light across the volcano provides more than enough reason to order one more drink before heading back to your suite.

Oia is waiting at the top of the steps whenever you want it, with its galleries, restaurants and famous lanes immediately accessible from the hotel. Hiking and cultural experiences can take you further into Santorini, while snorkelling and diving offer a completely different perspective on the volcanic landscape from the water.

Wellness

A.SPA offers massages and restorative treatments for the hours when even the pool feels too energetic, with spa rituals designed to fit easily around the slower rhythm of a stay. Open air and indoor bathing spaces add another opportunity to retreat from the Santorini sun before returning to the terraces.
