NÓS takes its name from the affectionate shortening of Sifnos itself, and that connection to the island runs much deeper than a clever name. The hotel draws on the restrained beauty of traditional Sifnian buildings, using stone, pale plaster, natural timber and earthy textures to create something that feels rooted in the landscape. Handcrafted details bring warmth to the simplicity, while gardens and courtyards soften the transition between the buildings and the surrounding hillside.

Faros is a lovely choice of setting. Once a fishing village and still one of the island's most sheltered bays, it has retained a gentle pace that suits NÓS beautifully. Rooms & Suites

Rooms and suites are divided between the NISOS and FAROS collections, each with a distinct relationship to the landscape. NISOS Classic rooms open onto either secluded courtyards or sea views, pairing bright interiors with the natural materials and handcrafted finishes found throughout the hotel.

The FAROS Superior rooms introduce private pools, with choices ranging from peaceful garden outlooks to side and full sea views. For something particularly appealing, the NOS Junior Suite combines a private plunge pool with an open Aegean panorama, creating the sort of terrace where an intended half hour with a book can very easily become an entire afternoon.

Dining

NOS Restaurant reflects an island with one of the richest culinary traditions in the Cyclades. Greek flavours form the foundation, supported by broader Mediterranean influences and seasonal ingredients, with the setting keeping everything connected to the landscape and the relaxed character of Faros.

Breakfast can be buffet, continental or à la carte, while later meals move easily from light daytime dishes to a more leisurely dinner. The adjoining bar keeps wine and cocktails close at hand, and warm Sifnian evenings do the rest, particularly when dinner stretches well beyond sunset.

Experience

The outdoor pool sits among gardens and terraces above the bay, providing an easy alternative to the private pools dotted through the accommodation. Faros Beach is around 300 metres away, so sea swimming requires little planning, while the coastal paths around the village are among the loveliest ways to experience this part of Sifnos.

Walking deserves a place in any stay here. Sifnos is crossed by an exceptional network of trails linking villages, monasteries, beaches and ancient sites, and nearby Chrisopigi is one of the island's defining sights. Cooking classes, cycling, horse riding and local experiences offer other ways into an island whose appeal extends far beyond its coastline.

Faros sits on the south eastern coast of Sifnos, with its beach, waterfront tavernas and walking trails immediately at hand. The beautiful monastery of Chrisopigi is nearby, while a car gives easy access to Apollonia, Artemonas, Kastro and the pottery villages and beaches scattered around the island, making NÓS an excellent base for discovering what makes Sifnos so special.
