King Jason Zante

Above Tsilivi Bay on Zakynthos, King Jason Zante is an adults only all inclusive retreat of 87 suites where an extraordinary 10,000 square metres of water, private pools and swim up living shape almost every part of the stay.

Water is not simply a feature here, it is the architecture around which the hotel has been conceived. Pools spread between the buildings, wrap around terraces and run directly past suites, creating the impression of a resort floating within its own blue landscape. Seen from above, the scale becomes remarkable, with islands of accommodation and gardens appearing between vast stretches of water.

That gives King Jason a distinctive rhythm. Mornings begin quietly beside the pools, afternoons drift between swimming, lunch and a lounger, and evenings bring live music and a little more life to the terraces. Everything has been designed to make staying within the resort feel wonderfully easy, particularly with the all inclusive concept taking care of dining and drinks throughout the day.

Rooms & Suites

The 87 suites make the most of this unusual layout, with many opening directly onto water. Deluxe and Superior Swim Up Suites step straight from their terraces into the pool system, while selected categories add partial or full sea views across Tsilivi Bay, bringing the coastline into an experience otherwise dominated by the pools.

The Island Suites are particularly striking. Some have direct swim up access while the Island Suite Sea View introduces its own private pool, creating a far more secluded setting within the wider resort. Garden Suites provide another change of character, combining outdoor space with views towards the Ionian.

Inside, the emphasis is on comfort and generous living space, with contemporary interiors, good beds and thoughtful touches extending through to the minibar and coffee facilities. Yet it is invariably the terrace that becomes the real living room, especially when the quickest route to breakfast involves stepping past your own pool.

Dining

Three restaurants give the all inclusive concept far more personality than a single dining room could provide. Watergarden is the main gathering point, with generous buffets, live cooking, Greek breakfasts and themed dinners allowing plenty of variety across a longer stay.

Haroub turns towards the eastern Mediterranean with Levantine flavours and dishes made for sharing, while Pisco heads in a completely different direction with Peruvian and Japanese influences. Unlimited dining at the two à la carte restaurants adds genuine flexibility, making it possible to move between very different cuisines without stepping outside the hotel.

The pool bar keeps drinks within easy reach of the water, complete with sunbed service, while a gourmet patisserie and coffee bar handles the dangerous hours between meals. The wine cellar brings together Greek and international labels, and picnic sets can even be prepared for days when Zakynthos finally persuades you away from the pools.

Experience

The sheer quantity of water remains King Jason’s defining pleasure. Alongside the extensive swimming areas surrounding the resort is a large main pool with water beds and a heated hydro pool fitted with massage jets, creating different places to swim, float or simply find a patch of sunshine and stay there.

There is enough going on to give the day some shape without making relaxation feel scheduled. Yoga, Pilates and TRX sessions provide a more active start, while live music brings the evening spaces gently to life. Weekly experiences introducing guests to local island life are a particularly nice touch, encouraging you to see something of Zakynthos beyond the resort.

Planos Beach is within easy reach when only the Ionian will do, while Tsilivi provides restaurants, bars and a livelier change of scene nearby. The pleasure, though, is returning to a hotel where slipping straight back into the water can be quite literally the first thing you do.

Wellness

The spa provides a calmer world away from the open terraces, with treatment rooms, a relaxation area, sauna and steam room joined by a contemporary fitness studio. Massages and body treatments cover the more indulgent end of the programme, while yoga, Pilates and fitness classes make wellness a visible part of everyday life at the hotel.

The heated hydro pool is especially appealing, using in water massage jets to blur the line between spa and swimming pool. Even a complimentary neck and head massage is worked into the experience, a small detail that captures King Jason’s broader idea of an all inclusive stay where relaxation goes well beyond food and drink.

Where

King Jason Zante occupies an elevated 25,000 square metre setting above Tsilivi Bay, with Planos Beach around 800 metres away and Zakynthos Town close enough for an easy excursion when you want to add a little island life to all that water.
