Blue is the constant here. The hotel has been arranged to draw the eye towards the Ionian at almost every turn, with low white buildings stepping towards the shore and pools appearing to merge with the sea beyond. There is an elegant simplicity to the architecture that allows the coastline to remain the star.

The scale works beautifully for an adults only hotel. There is enough space for a proper resort experience, yet the suites, private pools and beachfront are arranged so that the atmosphere remains intimate. Service is similarly discreet, with much of what you need able to come to you rather than dictating how you spend the day.

Rooms & Suites

Every suite looks towards the sea, immediately giving the accommodation a strong sense of place. The Double Suite begins the collection with its own terrace and Ionian outlook, while the Spa Suite adds an outdoor jetted tub for long, lazy afternoons in the sun.

Private water becomes the defining feature through the higher categories. Signature, Deluxe and Honeymoon Suites each have their own pool facing the sea, turning the terrace into a genuine outdoor living space where breakfast, swimming and an afternoon with a book can comfortably occupy most of the day.

The Royal Grand Suite is the most generous expression of Lesante Blu, combining greater space with its own private pool and uninterrupted sea view. Whichever category you choose, the rooms share a light contemporary style that keeps the emphasis firmly on the terrace and the blue beyond it.

Dining

Dining is one of Lesante Blu’s strengths, with four distinct settings carrying you from breakfast beside the sea to a more elaborate evening meal. Gaia brings together Greek and Mediterranean flavours for breakfast and dinner, while Melia Fine Dining takes a more ambitious approach with carefully composed Greek and international dishes.

Ostria is made for the middle of the day, when leaving the pool for anything too formal would feel entirely unnecessary. Down by the water, Almyra Beach House brings lunch and drinks even closer to the Ionian and is particularly tempting after a morning spent moving between the beach and sea.

The different restaurants give a longer stay welcome variety, while bars across the resort make the transition from afternoon to evening pleasingly effortless. A glass of something cold with the Ionian in front of you is very much part of the Lesante Blu rhythm.

Experience

The private beach is one of the hotel’s greatest pleasures, giving Lesante Blu a genuine relationship with the sea rather than simply a view of it. Loungers and service make it easy to settle in for the day, while the main infinity pool provides an equally beautiful alternative a few steps inland.

Zakynthos is worth seeing from the water, and the hotel is particularly well equipped to make that happen. A private jetty allows yacht excursions to begin directly from the resort, opening up days along the island’s coastline and across to neighbouring islands without first having to head into town.

Tennis, canoeing, diving and other water based activities provide plenty of ways to be more energetic, although the combination of private pool, beach and yacht makes a persuasive case for spending most of your time somewhere close to the Ionian.

Wellness

Essence Wellness & Spa provides a complete retreat from the sunshine with an indoor pool, hammam, sauna, hot tub and treatment spaces. Massages, facials and body therapies are joined by beauty treatments, while yoga, fitness sessions and personal training add a more active dimension.

The spa comes into its own after a day on the water, particularly when followed by the very short journey back to a private pool suite. It is an indulgent combination and one that suits the unhurried character of the hotel extremely well.

Where

Lesante Blu sits on the coast at Tragaki, with Tsilivi close by and Zakynthos Town easily reached when you want a change of scene. The setting feels pleasantly separate from the island’s busier centres, leaving the sea, beach and long Ionian views to define the stay.
