Dining

Food is woven into the village idea rather beautifully. The Taverna is the natural place for Greek cooking and convivial evenings, sometimes accompanied by live music, while the traditional Kafeneio gives morning coffee or something sweet in the afternoon a setting that feels unmistakably connected to Greece.

Elsewhere, Elea Restaurant looks towards Mediterranean flavours, Novita keeps things easy throughout the day and Fiore Fine Dining provides the occasion for a more elaborate evening. Together they give the resort enough variety for a long stay without losing sight of the ingredients and cooking of Zakynthos.

The Noble Bar and Novita Pool Bar complete the picture, but it is the square that we suspect will draw you back most often. Sitting outside the kafeneio while children wander safely nearby and the village begins to stir for the evening is exactly the kind of simple moment the whole concept was designed to create.

Experience

The sea is never far away. A secluded private beach sits below the resort, while several outdoor pools spread swimming and sunbathing across the grounds, including dedicated space for younger guests. Families also have a kids club, games room and playground, giving children plenty of independence within the resort.

There is a strong sense of Zakynthos beyond the beach too. Cooking classes and cultural experiences introduce another side of the island, while tennis, cycling and yoga provide more active days when required.

For something more memorable, take to the water. Boat trips can open up the island’s spectacular coastline and places such as Marathonisi, turning the Ionian stretching beyond your terrace into part of the holiday rather than simply its backdrop.

Armonia Wellness & Spa provides a substantial retreat within the village, with a hammam, sauna, steam room, hot tub and treatment spaces alongside a broad menu of massages, facials and body therapies. An open air bath brings some of the experience back into the Mediterranean surroundings.

Yoga, personal training and a fitness centre add a more active side to wellness, while the private pools attached to so many suites and villas mean finding your own quiet corner rarely requires much effort. Where

Lesante Cape occupies a coastal setting at Akrotiri, between Tsilivi and Zakynthos Town.
