Our View

Coco Bodu Hithi strikes a lovely balance between privacy and atmosphere, and after a few days here it is easy to see why so many guests return for the combination of spacious villas, excellent dining and an island that feels welcoming from the moment you arrive.

Coco Bodu Hithi occupies its own island in the North Malé Atoll, where spacious private pool villas, standout dining and a naturally social atmosphere set it apart from many of the Maldives' more secluded retreats.

The island is arranged around a broad lagoon, with overwater villas extending out across the Indian Ocean while beach villas sit amongst palms close to the shoreline. The resort feels open and well connected, allowing guests to move easily between restaurants, bars, the beach, spa and leisure facilities without the island ever feeling crowded. While many Maldivian resorts focus almost entirely on privacy, Coco Bodu Hithi combines personal space with a livelier energy that gives the island its own distinct character.

There is a natural flow to life here. Days often begin with breakfast overlooking the water before drifting between the lagoon, villa pool and beach, while evenings bring guests together across the island's restaurants and bars. The result is a resort that feels relaxed and romantic but never isolated, making it equally appealing for couples, honeymooners and those who enjoy a little more atmosphere around them.

Staying

Accommodation is centred around a collection of large villas, each with its own private pool and generous indoor and outdoor living space. The Beach Villa with Private Pool provides direct access to the sand, while the Water Villa with Private Pool and Escape Water Villa with Private Pool place guests directly above the lagoon with expansive decks designed for long days spent outdoors.

The Coco Residence represents the most exclusive accommodation on the island, offering significantly more space alongside a private stretch of beach, dedicated living areas and enhanced privacy. Across all villa categories, the emphasis is on space, outdoor living and a strong connection to the surrounding ocean rather than unnecessary excess.

Dining is one of the strongest elements of the Coco Bodu Hithi experience, with five restaurants and dining venues alongside two dedicated bars. Air serves international cuisine throughout the day, Aqua specialises in seafood above the lagoon, Tsuki focuses on Japanese cuisine, while Stars Restaurant provides a more intimate setting for fine dining. In Villa Dining is also available for guests who prefer complete privacy.

Wine Loft adds one of the Maldives' more impressive wine collections, while Latitude Bar remains a popular gathering point from afternoon onwards. Together they give the island a level of variety rarely found at a resort of this size, ensuring guests can enjoy a very different setting and atmosphere each evening.

Experience

The lagoon and surrounding reef shape much of the daily experience. Snorkelling, diving, canoeing, windsurfing and fishing are all readily available, while guided excursions allow guests to explore further into the atoll. The reef itself supports an abundance of marine life and provides rewarding snorkelling directly from the island.

On land, guests divide their time between the beach, private villa pools and the resort's main swimming pools. Yoga, Tai Chi, tennis and fitness activities provide structure for those seeking a more active stay, while sunset cruises and slower paced island experiences allow guests to appreciate the setting at a gentler pace.

Wellness

The overwater Coco Spa occupies one of the most peaceful corners of the island and features treatment pavilions positioned above the lagoon. A comprehensive menu of therapies sits alongside yoga programmes, wellness treatments, steam facilities and relaxation spaces that make the spa a destination in its own right rather than simply an additional facility.

An overwater fitness centre allows guests to maintain their exercise routine while enjoying uninterrupted ocean views, adding another dimension to the resort's wellness offering.

Where

Coco Bodu Hithi is located in the North Malé Atoll and reached by a speedboat journey of approximately 35 minutes from Velana International Airport. Its proximity to Malé makes arrival straightforward while still providing the feeling of being fully immersed in a classic Maldives island setting.
