Our View

Few places in the Maldives deliver this level of privacy and freedom, and Kudadoo feels less like a resort and more like having your own extraordinary island in the Indian Ocean.

Kudadoo Maldives Private Island by Hurawalhi is an ultra exclusive all inclusive private island in Lhaviyani Atoll where just 15 overwater residences and an anything, anytime, anywhere philosophy create one of the most personalised luxury experiences in the Maldives.

Exclusivity is often overused in the Maldives, yet at Kudadoo it is entirely justified. With only 15 residences spread across the island, the atmosphere is remarkably private from the moment of arrival. Designed by renowned architect Yuji Yamazaki, the resort centres around The Retreat, an overwater hub that brings together dining, wellness, leisure and social spaces while maintaining the feeling of a private residence rather than a conventional resort. Timber, stone and open sea views define the aesthetic, while the extensive use of solar energy reflects a genuine commitment to sustainability rather than a marketing statement.

The scale of the island allows every guest to feel as though they have their own corner of the Indian Ocean. Service is discreet but ever present, with personal butlers available around the clock and every aspect of the stay shaped around individual preferences rather than fixed schedules.

Staying

Accommodation consists entirely of one and two bedroom Ocean Residences positioned above the lagoon. Each residence offers substantial indoor and outdoor living space, anchored by a 44 square metre private infinity pool and expansive terrace overlooking the water. Floor to ceiling glazing ensures uninterrupted views throughout the day, while the interiors favour natural materials and calm, understated tones that place the focus firmly on the surrounding seascape.

The two bedroom residences provide exceptional space for couples travelling together or guests seeking additional privacy, while every residence benefits from direct lagoon access and a layout that feels more akin to a private home than a hotel suite. Technology is integrated thoughtfully throughout, but never distracts from the sense of calm that defines the experience.

Dining revolves around The Retreat, where the concept is refreshingly simple: guests can eat what they want, when they want and where they want. There are no restrictive meal plans, fixed dining times or supplemental charges. Menus draw inspiration from international cuisines, with ingredients and dishes tailored to individual tastes and requests.

A carefully curated wine cellar and cheese room add further depth to the culinary offering, while private dining can take place on the beach, on a sandbank, within the residence or out on the water. The result feels highly personal and entirely aligned with the resort's anything, anytime, anywhere approach.

Experience

Life at Kudadoo is built around freedom rather than schedules. Snorkelling, diving, paddleboarding, kayaking and watersports are all included, alongside private excursions that allow guests to experience the atoll on their own terms. Encounters with manta rays, turtles and the rich marine life of Lhaviyani Atoll are among the highlights, while private sandbank experiences and tailored adventures can be arranged at any time.

The island also offers a swimming pool, fitness facilities, games room and a remarkable elevated viewing platform above The Retreat that provides one of the most impressive vantage points found anywhere in the Maldives.

Wellness

Wellness forms a central part of the Kudadoo experience. The spa offers a comprehensive menu of treatments alongside yoga, meditation and personalised fitness programmes, all included within the resort's philosophy. Guests also have access to private wellness sessions and personal training, allowing every aspect of relaxation and wellbeing to be tailored to individual needs.

The combination of privacy, flexibility and inclusions creates a level of freedom that very few resorts are able to match.

Where

Kudadoo is located in Lhaviyani Atoll and reached by a scenic seaplane transfer of approximately 40 minutes from Velana International Airport. Its position places guests within easy reach of some of the Maldives' finest reefs and marine environments while maintaining the seclusion expected from one of the country's most exclusive private island retreats.
