Our View

Pullman Maldives Maamutaa feels refreshingly different, combining the space and freedom of a larger island with an all inclusive offering that genuinely adds value to the stay.

Pullman Maldives Maamutaa in Gaafu Alifu Atoll combines one of the Maldives' most generous all inclusive concepts with a large natural island, expansive villa accommodation and a refreshing sense of energy that sets it apart from many traditional resorts.

Spread across 18 hectares, the island feels notably larger than many resorts in the Maldives. Long stretches of beach, broad areas of tropical vegetation and a substantial lagoon create a setting that encourages exploration rather than simply staying close to your villa. The atmosphere is relaxed and contemporary, with the resort balancing laid back island living with a wide range of facilities and activities that keep the island feeling vibrant throughout the day.

The all inclusive programme is a central part of the experience. Dining, drinks, activities and daily conveniences are woven seamlessly into the stay, creating a resort where guests can settle in quickly and make the most of everything the island has to offer.

Staying

The 122 villas are spread between the beach, the lagoon and the ocean beyond, offering a broad range of accommodation styles. Beach Villas and Beach Pool Villas sit amongst the greenery close to the shoreline, while the overwater collection extends across the lagoon with uninterrupted ocean views and direct access to the water.

Ocean Pool Villas, Ocean Pool Suites and the larger private villa categories provide generous outdoor living areas and private pools, while the Four Bedroom Ocean Pool Retreat delivers one of the most substantial accommodation options on the island. Throughout the resort, indoor and outdoor living spaces connect naturally, allowing guests to spend much of their time outside enjoying the surrounding landscape and sea.

Dining is spread across three restaurants and several social venues, giving guests considerable variety throughout a stay. Mélange serves international cuisine with live cooking stations and changing menus throughout the day, while Souq Oven focuses on Italian dishes prepared from its open kitchen. Phat Chameleon has developed a strong reputation for its creative plant based cuisine, offering something genuinely different within the Maldives dining scene.

The Hub forms the social heart of the resort, while Saffron Affair and Sol Rising provide additional settings for cocktails, wines and evening drinks. With more than 80 wines available and a comprehensive all inclusive programme, food and drink are a significant part of the resort's appeal rather than simply a supporting feature.

Experience

Life on the island extends well beyond the beach. The house reef offers rewarding snorkelling, while the PADI certified Suvadiva Dive Centre provides access to some of the most impressive diving sites in the southern Maldives. Kayaking, paddle sports, fishing trips and excursions allow guests to spend as much time on the water as they wish.

Back on land, there is an unusually broad choice of activities including tennis, beach volleyball, golf, cycling, nature walks and fitness classes. This is a resort that encourages guests to be active if they choose, while still offering plenty of space for those seeking a slower pace beneath the palms or beside the pool.

Wellness

Pullman Spa by Phytomer complements the resort's energetic atmosphere with a more restorative side to island life. Treatments focus on marine based therapies and wellbeing rituals, while the facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, steam room and sauna. Yoga sessions, fitness classes and a well equipped gym ensure wellness remains an integral part of the experience rather than an afterthought.

Where

Located in Gaafu Alifu Atoll approximately 400 kilometres south of Malé, the resort is reached via a domestic flight to Kooddoo followed by a short speedboat transfer. Its position places guests within one of the Maldives' least developed atolls, an area renowned for healthy reefs, excellent diving and a greater sense of distance from the busier resort regions closer to the capital.
